BRIDGE – Building a Resourceful International Youth Diversion Group for Exchanging Best Practices Across Europe

BRIDGE – Building a Resourceful International Youth Diversion Group for Exchanging Best Practices Across Europe is an Erasmus+ programme implemented by Terre des hommes Hellas, Halt Netherlands (coordinator), and Foróige Ireland. The project aims to strengthen diversion approaches to child and youth offending by promoting restorative practices, reintegration, and the prevention of stigma for children and young people.

Through European cooperation and the exchange of best practices between the Netherlands, Ireland, and Greece, BRIDGE seeks to empower professionals, improve child and youth justice policies, and promote more effective and humane responses outside the criminal justice system.

  • Child and Youth justice professionals

  • Social workers, psychologists, child and youth support practitioners

  • Children and young people at risk of entering the penal justice system

  • Organisations working on child and youth offending and diversion

Objectives:

  • Promote and strengthen alternatives to judicial proceedings for young people.

  • Exchange and develop best European practices on Youth Diversion.

  • Enhance restorative and socially just approaches to youth behaviour.

  • Prevent the stigma associated with justice involvement and support reintegration.

  • Build transnational cooperation among professionals and organisations.
