Terre des hommes Hellas promotes child protection and access to justice for children through programs addressing abuse, offending behavior, school-based gender violence, and mental health. It empowers children, parents, and educators with training and workshops, while leveraging AI to improve access to information about children's rights and services.

Description of role

As a member of the Tdh Hellas team and working under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, The Fundraising Specialist will have a key role in the resource mobilization and fundraising activities of the Tdh Hellas office. This position will take the lead in the planning and development of proposals- for both institutional and private donors-, will be responsible for enlarging the donor base as well as coordinate other development and alternative fundraising activities. The Fundraising Specialist will also lead in developing and implementing strategies to secure funding from diverse sources including individual donors, foundations, corporate sponsors, and institutional grants.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.
  • Identify relevant funding opportunities, map donors, and track institutional and other calls for proposals.
  • Adhere to and actively promote a fundraising culture in the Tdh Hellas office.
  • Develop fundraising proposals (concept notes and full applications) through grant-writing and team mobilization, in collaboration with the programme teams and Executive Director
  • Act as a technical advisor and lead for collaborative proposal development.
  • Work with the Tdh Hellas Executive Director and/or programme staff to support and leverage their donor representation, donor cultivation, relationship building, and donor intelligence gathering.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and training to Tdh Hellas staff on donor cultivation (building relationships), gathering donor intelligence, building visibility, and pre-positioning for funding opportunities.
  • Plan and coordinate support to teams to diversify its donor base, targeting major donors, corporate donors, and foundations.
  • Facilitate information management, collecting, disseminating, and centralizing fundraising information.
  • Identify, research, and cultivate relationships with potential donors, partners, and sponsors.
  • Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and ethical standards.
  • Monitor and analyse fundraising performance, providing regular reports and recommendations to management.
  • Plan and coordinate fundraising campaigns, events, and digital initiatives
Candidate profile

Education / Qualifications

University degree from an accredited educational institution in international relations, business or public administration, marketing, economics, development or humanitarian studies or a related discipline.

Experience:  

At least 5 years of relevant experience in a context of fundraising and business development, ideally in Greece.

Experience in planning and monitoring progress towards set goals, including exposure to budget preparation.

A successful track record with institutional donors such as EU, Norway grants, Governmental funding and private donors etc

Extensive experience in proposal writing and donor relationship management.

Experience of working in a collaborative environment with minimal direct supervision

Languages: Excellent command of written and spoken Greek & English

IT Knowledge: Microsoft Office
