EU-Funded CARING 2.0 Project Launched to Combat School-Related Violence Across Europe

The CARING 2.0: Multi-disciplinary Prevention of and Response to School-related Violence project officially launched with a two-day kick-off meeting in Budapest on April 15–16, 2025. This initiative aims to strengthen child protection systems across Romania, Greece, Bulgaria, Croatia, and Kosovo.
Violence against children in the CARING 2.0 countries
CARING 2.0 is being implemented in five European countries: Romania, Greece, Bulgaria, Croatia, and Kosovo. We examined the alarming rates of violence against children in these regions. Despite being often invisible, this violence has deep and lasting impacts on children’s lives.

How CARING 2.0 works and the applied methodologies
CARING 2.0 seeks to build stronger and more inclusive child protection systems. It focuses on school-related violence—particularly its gendered dimensions—and encourages meaningful participation of children. Through tools like the “CARING curricula,” child-led activities, and trauma-informed training for professionals, the project brings long-term solutions.
